Summerdms here, and with something great! It's poetry! I took a class at my school to do some poetry and let me tell you it was pretty cool. I am even offering to share some with you!

~! Shape Poems !~

Who know what shape poems are? Well, if you don't, keep reading and find out! Shape poems are poems that are made into shapes. Good shape poems are, of course, made into the shape that the poem is about.  Like if you do a poem about an alligator, it's in the shape of an alligator!

Here are the directions:

Step 1: Find a picture or something you would like to trace, or just free draw.

Step 2: Draw your picture that you want to write your poem about.

Step 3: Erase your marking, but keep enough of it there that you can still see it!

Step 4: Write your poem about that picture on the line(s).

Step 5: When you're finished, decorate it!

** Haiku **

A haiku is a another poem! You use the three numbers 575 and write your poem but when you start on the 5 you must have only 5 syllables! Same with the others! Example:

5: I went for a walk
7: I saw a funny but cute squirrel
5: I ran after it!

Sorry I couldn't put a shape poem up, because I tried but it didn't work! LOL!!

I am having a contest of who can write the best poems. Whoever does I will try to get published in my next article. In the meantime, have fun with these poems!!

Love,
Summerdms
