Extra, extra read all about it! Sonner wins the third senate race!

Everyone's heard the news about the senate election. But what did you really know about the candidates? Ace reporter, Hermionez, is here to tell you a bit about the candidates. Since the election is all over, what did they think about it all? Read on to find out:

First is an interview with our new senator, Sonner:

Q: What was the most rewarding part of running?
A: The most rewarding part was actually being voted senator. I had 40% of the vote and Brian98 had 36%, which was a really tight race, followed by my best bud Babypowdr, who had 24% of the vote, so it was a really tight race. I'd love to have a Times Building up and running again to encourage people to read the Times. I look forward to working with Oreobaby and the next senator that gets voted through. This is just the beginning now because now I have to actually do the job of senator.

Q: What was the most annoying part of running?
A: Easily the most annoying part was people just criticizing me for no reason. Some people I see for the first time act like we know each other forever and start saying I'll never win, etc. I got the last laugh.

Q: How do you feel about winning?
A: I feel good about winning. I want to put my input in with the city workers and Oreobaby and hopefully do something nice for Whyville.

Q: Do you think the race was fair? (In the last race, there was a great deal of gossip about possible bribery.)
A: Yes, this time around it was fair. I have received mails and people saying they'll vote for me if I give them a certain amount of clams and I obviously said no and gave them a little lecture on bribery. LoL

Q: What did you most want to change about Whyville?
A: I want to have a Times Building running, which wasn't in my platform, but it came to me later after my platform was made. I'd also like to have Whyville bank accounts that people can earn interest off of, so they can learn about accounting, etc.

Q: Will you run again after your term is over?
A: I might run again. I'm not thinking that far ahead right now.

And now an interview with the first runner up, Brian98!

Q: What was the most rewarding part of running?
A: The most rewarding part of running was meeting so many new citizens. I met many citizens due to y-mail or just chatting and it has made a great impact on me and my future on Whyville.

Q: What was the most annoying part of running?
A: The most annoying part of running was some nasty y-mails that I received. It was really horrible to see what citizens could make up about such a nice person (teehee =D). It went so far that I had to send out a 911 report and that citizen (no names mentioned) was punished

Q: How do you feel about Sonner winning?
A: I feel really happy that Sonner won. He is a really good friend to me and he ran a tough race. He will make a big improvement to Whyville and its citizens. It was just an honor running with him.

Q: Do you think the race was fair? (In the last race, there was a great deal of gossip about possible bribery.)
A: I didn't hear of any bribery in this race, so I have no comment to this question.

Q: What did you most want to change about Whyville?
A: If I ever get elected, I would change things that make an impact on citizen's future's outside of Whyville. Some improvements are like a bank (investing) and a food court (nutrition and healthy eating).

Q: Will you run again?
A: I might run again in the next election. =D

And last, but certainly not least, the second runner up, Babypwdr

Q: What was the most rewarding part of running?
A: Meeting the people. I made some new friends and found out that there is a lot more to Whyville chatting than I thought.

Q: What was the most annoying part of running?
A: The most annoying thing about running was the people who were like, I'm not voting for you because you have a beard. And then they wouldn't listen to my ideas anyways because of the goatee. It was kinda depressing and aggravating, but yeah... people are like that, right?

Q: How do you feel about Sonner winning?
A: I'm happy for him. Sonner is one of my best friends, and you know... I think he'll do a good job.

Q: Do you think the race was fair? (In the last race, there was a great deal of gossip about possible bribery.)
A: I think this race was pretty fair... I did hear about some cheating... but it wasn't me. :P I wasn't on this past week. :D

Q: What did you most want to change about Whyville?
A: I wanted to change most the view on newbies. I actually have changed and I like the new people. As annoying as they can be, I want to share this wonderful place with everyone.

Q: Will you run again?
A: I might run again over the summer, when chances are I'll be online more often. And I should have my new computer by then. :)

And that is the inside story on the senate race. It may not be juicy gossip, but it does provide some insightful info about the race.

Remember, don't be annoying to candidates during the race!

Me, I'm glad Sonner won. And I hope Babypwdr and Brian98 run as candidates next time! Good job, all of you!

This is ace reporter Hermionez, signing off to get a scoop... of ice cream!! =D
