Hello again! DiGsTeR02's here to tell you about the Senate Meeting that occurred at 8:45 p.m., June 7, 2004 in the Greek Theatre. Many of you may have noticed in the main page of Whyville that comes up right after you log on that there was a part that said "Senate Meeting 8:45 in Greek Theatre" and had a picture of Sonner and OrEoBaBy below it. I was one of the many people who attended.

Unfortunately, my computer froze at 8:40 and I had some difficulties getting into the Greek Theatre because the room was full. I tried repeatedly, and finally got in at 8:53. I did not miss much, I believe.

There were four City Workers (CWs for short) there, consisting of turnip, scyllaCat, City Hall and mark, but he was being invisible, as usual. Sonner was there too, but I did not see OrEoBaBy yet. She may have been running a tad bit behind. (Note: This meeting involved the two Senators, City Workers and citizens, all talking about ways to improve Whyville.)

At the beginning of the meeting, the CWs had some polls about the Times, like 'How many articles do you read?', 'Do you ever post in the BBS?', 'What's your favorite topic?', etc. They also had polls on suggestions for the Times, when OrEoBaBy arrived, shortly after 9 p.m.

Around 9:30 we started to talk about newbies and suggestions to help them out, and we started a big conversation about loans and stuff for newbies. Then we realized that if they did not pay back the loans, they could just make a new account and never have to return the clams. So back to the drawing board we went. Ideas went around and around, and then we moved on to a new topic.

Chat Filters. Ahh, how most of us dislike them. We debated a couple of things and voiced our opinions on what we thought about the filters in Whyville. Then we talked about words that weren't bad at all that we wish we could say, but their blocked by the filter because they have a bad word or meaning in them, like 'assignment' or 'hole'. City Hall indicated they might be able to make it so we can say these words some day.

"Okay. Next issue," City Hall said as she asked OrEoBaBy to introduce the next issue. It was 'Sponsors to help Whyville grow.' Many Whyvillians offered to have their parents' job places sponsor Whyville.

Sponsors pay for some of Whyville's expenses, so that is very thoughtful of those people to volunteer to help out, in my opinion. They were also thinking of notorious (I mean, well-known or popular) TV channels that would be willing to have an advertisement for Whyville: for example, Nickelodeon or the Disney Channel.

And our last issue, was about the Face Factory. City Hall said that akbar needs some help. It was about deciding on whether to accept a face part or not. She put it on the screen in the Theatre and I stared at it in disbelief! It was a scary-looking skull with horns and a snake slithering through its empty eye sockets. I want you to see it. :)

Very well drawn, but scary, huh? Hehe. City Hall would not tell us who made it, so I sat back and took the topic off of my mind. We had a poll on whether to accept it or not, based on the influence it would have on the Whyvillians and if it would make Whyville scarier. The conclusion, it seems, was undecided. We do not know the name of the part, but if it gets accepted, I imagine we will know soon enough.

Sorry I wrote so much, but this meeting was so exciting! it lasted about an hour and a half (8:45-10:17 p.m.) and boy, did we go over a lot of topics and ideas!

This is DiGsTeR02, signing out. I hope you all enjoy your summer! :)
