It was getting dark. I decided to get on Whyville to read my Y-mails. I did so, and then I went into the Greek Theater to chat with my friends.

Immediately, everything seemed strange. I could not see anyone in there, although there were random speech bubbles scattered all around. I could not find out where my face was, so I typed random letters -- actually, it was more like pressing all the letters on my keyboard 70,000,000 times... but you get the idea. LoL.

I figured out I was somewhere near the right side of the Theater. There I am!

I was so confused by this malfunction with our faces. I couldn't see anyone's names, so I asked everyone to shout out their names. I got many responses in return. Then I realized, if I scrolled over their speech bubble, their name appeared at the top of the screen. "How odd," I thought.

Although I couldn't see peoples faces, I didn't much care. To me, faces definitely aren't as important as personalities. I enjoyed the moment, chatting with my friends, not being disturbed or interrupted by people calling each other ugly and stuff like that. It was a happy scene.

Later on, at around 7:25 p.m., about 17 people entered the room, and they were all taters (you know, the sort of round, lumpy head that you get when you first start Whyville, with no face parts). Those of us who had come into the room earlier were still 'invisible', as many people called it. We thought, "Well, all of those people aren't actually taters, we know that. This is becoming very strange. I hope Whyville gets our faces fixed back to normal soon."

Personally, I actually liked being all invisible and tater-faced. It was a good time to chat together like pals, with a stranger you've never met who might have been a newbie or a goth or anything else, someone you'd never thought you'd talk to. It was a good time of unity among everyone. There was very little name-calling at all. I was glad of that. I never wanted this moment to end.

Unfortunately, at 7:30 p.m., more people came in, with their faces back to normal. Well, I had fun while it lasted!

I hope Whyville has an error like this again, because for that half hour, it was the happiest time of my Whyville life.

Yours Truly,
DiGsTeR02... remaining the optimistic person that I am ;)
