Halloween Contest Turns Into Popularity Contest!
Cowgurl sees unfair voting.

**I hope no one will be offended by this**

As you may know, the Halloween party was a blast for most. But it was a debate for others.

Obviously, most people were interested in the Costume Contest, and the prize. No one knew what the prize was, but everyone knew they wanted it. So, at first it was just a cute little contest for who's costume was the bomb! I thought 08 and catgirl would win without a doubt!

Then, people started asking others, "Could you please vote for me?" Then it became, "I'll vote for you if you vote for me." And it was that that changed the votes.

It turned into a contest of who could stay on all night, which was a problem for those of us in the Eastern time zone. I only stayed on from 5 to 8pm Pacific, but that was 8 to 11pm Eastern time for me.

Now, I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but Bringit's costume STUNK LIKE A DUMPSTER! She wears it alllll the time, but she got fourth place! And Monday's was ok, I guess, but I don't think either of them got all their votes from just having the best costume.

I think that probably many people feel this way, so if it isn't tooooo much trouble, I was wondering if City Hall could let us have a re-do, the same way she did the Prom Queen and King vote. I don't want to win, I just want people with actually cool costumes to win.

Editor's Note: I think cowgurl makes a good point here. We at the Times think that there were some truly excellent costumes that didn't get recognized by the contest. The ones we noticed were:

  • 08 in her shocking Eyeball Wall
  • Shelly1's wacked-out, walking pox horror.
  • Riven's classic Halloween monsters.

There were a lot of great Halloween costumes put together by Whyvillians of all shapes and kinds, and I only wish I could acknowledge each and every one of them. Maybe next year! In the meantime, Thanksgiving is coming around soon...

How about some turkey heads, folks?

A motley crew indeed: Shelly1, 08, and Riven's Scream Mask
