Hello. As many of you already know, June 1 was Canada Day. But what is Canada
Day really all about? That is what I am here to explain today.
On July 1, 2004, Canada Day was celebrated for the 137th time since
Confederation, which is when Canada became united as one nation.
Before 1982, Canada Day was known by many different names, including: Dominion
Day, First of July, Confederation Day, and July the First.
On Canada Day, all Canadians get the workday off, except for really important
jobs like police officers and stuff.
Canada Day is celebrated by... having parades, family outings, picnics, and other
celebrations. Canadians wave flags and sing songs, including Canada's national
anthem.

On Whyville last Thursday, I witnessed many people doing the same things. They
bought Canadian flags from Akbar's and they put them on their faces for all to
see, and walked around singing Canada's national anthem. They were proud to be
Canadians, and this, everyone could see! :)
Recently, I watched a Disney movie called Brother Bear. There are two moose in
the movie that are from Canada. They always say 'eh?' after every sentence. "How
are ya doing, eh?" LoL, it's funny. I encourage you to watch that movie, even if
not all Canadians say "eh". =D
I'm glad I told you about Canada Day! I think it's pretty cool, myself. =)
