My Face Factory can be awfully tough to get into, but do you know
what's worse than the wait? Getting a Y-mail telling you that the part
you just slaved over for an hour or three has been rejected! Avoid the
heartbreak and read my series of articles about what my Y-mail
rejections mean -- and therefore, what you can do to avoid getting them.
This week's topic is Bodies and
Clothing.
Sometimes people create bodies with clothing that just show too much
skin. Whyville is a place open to all sorts of people, from parents to
young kids to preteens and teens -- and we'd like to keep all our
citizens comfortable coming here. Low-cut dresses, bare midriffs and so
on don't really fit the Whyville look, so although you may wear them in
real life, or want to wear them virtually, understand that Whyville's
really not the place for it. Thanks!
For example, folks who don't follow this guideline will be told
something like: "Too
low cut. We don't want to see any cleavage," "Outfit too skimpy," "No tummies," and
"Top too busty."
Showing some curves is okay. We understand that many Whyvillians are at
an age where their bodies are developing and they'd like their
Whyvillian person to reflect that, but the bodies should look
age-appropriate. Don't go Pamela Anderson on us! Also, there are many
citizens (and parents of citizens!) who aren't comfortable with
clothing that's revealing -- and that includes tube tops, shirts with
revealing holes, and bathing suit tops.
The other big problem some Whyville designers face is figuring out
exactly the right size of body to make. Whyville is a head and
shoulders town only! Bodies that include anything below the solar
plexus (mid-chest) will be told "Incorrect
body size." That definitely includes full bodies, and it's
another reason we don't allow bare bellies in Whyville.
The good news is, we hope to have a template for bodies soon, so every
one you make will fit in perfectly!
As always, never forget to click the "Submit" button after drawing your
face part. If you forget to, you'll get a note from me stating that
your face parts were not received by my workshop.
And finally, please remember the very first rule listed in the Face
Factory: No
refunds for workshop time! If you don't complete your part or Akbar
doesn't approve your part design, Akbar will NOT refund the clams you
spent. This is one of the risks of submitting parts to Akbar's.
