I've found, once we hit 11-13 years old, we start telling ourselves, "I've already been everything I want to be for Halloween." That's why I'm going to try help you out, by telling you many many coustume ideas... I hope they help!

If you are a parent, then start here for infant ideas:

4-year-olds: Barney, a pumpkin, Blue (Blue's Clues), McDonald's food (when I was three, I dressed up as French Fries!), Mickey or Minnie Mouse
5-year-olds: Barbie, Bob the Builder
6-year-olds: Power Puff Girls, Power Rangers

7-year-olds: Witch, Yugioh!, Pokemon
8: Race car driver, doctor, pixie/fairy, Sailor Moon or Sailor scout (A cute idea for this one is if your child has a best friend who also likes sailor moon they can go as two different Sailor Scouts. My friend and I were Sailor Jupitor and Sailor Mars one year -- everyone thought it was cute and we got a lot of pictures taken, too.)
9: Butterfly princess, Zelda, Crash Bandicoot, a television, genie

10
-year-olds: Gothic, punk, cheese (one of my friend's ideas :P)
11: Banker, rock star (or pop star, or R&B, etc, etc)
12: Poor/rich person

13
-year-olds: Vampire/vampiress
14: Candy corn or any other candy
15: Alien
