This past week, Whyvillians selected our community's latest senator! More than 5,000 votes were cast, though the voting link shared time on the welcome page with several other links, and many folks were busy with Halloween. Great turnout, everyone!

The winner, with almost 45% of the vote, is hotboi764!

In his platform, hotboi764 emphasized a rules list, an Adopt-a-Newbie program and improving features in the Newbie Center.

His first Times article, "Why Always Girl Fashions?", was published on September 12, 2004. He suggested that too many fashion articles in the Times focused on what girls could buy and wear, and described a variety of parts that boys might want to check out.

Hotboi764 also wrote "Be a Truthful Journalist!" for the September 12 issue, in which he urged that writers for the Times be honest rather than make things up, like one of his friends had done.

He has been a citizen since December 27, 2003. He owns eleven rooms at his house in Myville's New Town 4 at Ave E & 4th St, and brings in 90 clams a day from salary.

The Senate Debate was held at the Greek Theater on Saturday, September 23. There was no clear winner at the debate, though many issues came up and it seemed the candidates established themselves pretty well. Interestingly, in an informal poll at the debate, most of the audience said the debate did NOT change their minds about who to vote for.

Congratulations to hotboi764, and to hiphop26 and coconut02! It was a tight race between three highly qualified candidates. Whyvillians chose each of you as the cream of the crop -- we hope you enjoyed it!

The official Inauguration will be held sometime in the next week, very soon. Hotboi764 will take the oath of office in the Greek Theater and may deliver an inauguration address. If you come, you may also see Senator Sonner, who is ending his six-month term as Senator.

The next Senate race will begin in mid to late November. Think about your platforms, and join us at the Senate Meetings when you can!
