Attention! Depk0 and I, Seron, are hosting a projectile tournament. Do you think you are a masterful projectile thrower? Then test your skills in this vicious tournament! Here are all the details:

Date: SATURDAY, February 5
Time: TBA
Place: Sportplatz. If it's too crowded, we will pick another place.

First Prize: 500 clams.

Please send 10 clams to enter the tournament. If you have a salary under 20, then 5 clams will do. We will check City Records to confirm.

ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SUBMITTED TO SERON OR DEPK0 BY JANUARY 30. NO SUBMISSION FORMS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THAT DATE. THIS IS NOT A WHYVILLE-SPONSORED ACTIVITY, but it'll still be fun!

RULES:

1. There can only be two people on your team. If you would like to fight alone, that is fine, but two people will make it easier.
2. You have three Hit Points. If you are hit three times, you are out. If the other member on your team is hit three times, he is out. If you are both hit three times (3 + 3), then your team will be disqualified.
3. If a tie results, it will be sudden death. First team to be hit ONCE is down.
4. You may not say "throw pie seron", you must say "throw pie 180" or "throw pie 0". Or something of the sort. If you say "throw pie seron", than you lose an HP.
5. Depk0 and I will be there at all times to referee; we will count how many HP you have.
6. Depk0 and I will be entering the contest. Editor's Note: The contest sounds like a lot of fun, guys, but perhaps it would be more clearly fair if you did not participate in a contest where you were judging, too....
7. Buy as many projectiles as you like.
8. You must Y-Mail your entry. Here is what you must include in your entry:

    • Team Name.

    • Whyville names of both people on your team.
      THE INFORMATION MUST BE VALID.

Thanks, and start training for those 500 clams!

Now, many people think that the ten clams we're asking for as entry fee is a scam, according to my friend armada. I said, well, it is no big deal, I mean it's only 10 clams, and it all goes towards the 500-clam prize. I hope they understand that.

Actually, throwing projectiles can be quite fun. Many people think it is pointless, but to depk0 and I, it is a sport. It is one of the things that makes Whyville fun. If it weren't for these things, I wouldn't stay on Whyville too long.

But this isn't a scam. Many think it is, but it is not. I have a Why-Pass, I have blown over 8,000 clams on face parts, and I am a member of Club Why. If I wanted to scam you, I would do it on a newbie account. Who cares if that one gets banished? They only make 5 clams a day or something. My Seron account makes 83 a day -- I wouldn't want to lose this.

Most people will scam you using a new account. So don't fall for this.

I remember about a few days ago on Saturn, I was showing off my ten clapping hands and someone asked me if I wanted their password. I was like, "What??" If I was still that newbie with the suspicious eyes and the red sweater I once was, I would have taken it. Instead I told him to NEVER give out his password. And he said Okay.

So this is NOT a scam. It is just something to help you have fun and maybe even win a bunch of clams.

Keep in mind, we may have to find another place if the Sportplatz is down.

Another bonus to this tournament is that you will be able to learn your angles, since you cannot say "throw yuck seron". Then you can take these skills and use them to earn clams in the WASA Zero Gravity Chamber!

So would you rather lose 10 clams? Or make over 1,000?

This is Seron here, asking you to join in with projectiles. And warning you to beware scams in and out of Whyville.

Editor's Note: Sounds like this could be a lot of fun! I hope it works out well. In fact, this sounds like it would be an incredible opportunity for a fun photo shoot -- Times writers & photographers, I hope you observe the events and report back to us. Maybe even in a "war reporter" style... what do you think? Of course, if it turns out the winner doesn't get those 500 clams, there's another story altogether. But I definitely hope that won't be necessary. :-)
