Hello, this is Rebok and I would like to run for Whyville Senator. I have been a citizen of Whyville since Monday March 11, 2002 and have earned a salary of 123 clams, which is only 1 point away from a full salary. I feel that I could fill this job very well! I had always wanted to run for senator, but never got a chance to with all of my school work. But now I have plenty of time and would like to share my ideas with you. I know that there have been many problems concerning plots. Right now, the rooms in the houses do not work. I would like to see Whyville fix this problem. I don?t think more plots should be sold because of server space, but I think there should be one chat room linking to rooms built by citizens. This room would be for anyone who does not own a plot. We could hold a contest for the best designed rooms and those rooms would be linked off of the main chat room. That way, everyone could chat among a big Whyville house. A lot of people are tired of having a plot so I would like to see a feature allowing them to trade their plots with people that want them. In the Face Factory, I would like to have some extra tools. Some of these tools would include ?Undo?, ?Fill?, and ?Line?. I would also like to be able to modify a design that has not been accepted. That way, if your shirt is ?Too long?, no problem! You can just select that design and crop off a bit from the bottom. This tool would save hours of your time. I am not too concerned about the number of colours to choose from, but there could be more shades. This could really improve designs. I know the bank idea has come up a lot. The only way Whyville could have a bank is to get one to sponsor them. Not many Whyvillians are prepared to go out and find a bank willing to sponsor Whyville so maybe there could be a contest, and the first Whyvillian to get a bank to sponsor Whyville could win a Why-Pass and some clams perhaps. It would be better if the bank was located in California. Local banks would be more prepared to sponsor. If someone ever found a bank able to sponsor Whyville, I think the bank would be very beneficial for kids to learn about money. We are going to need these skills when we are old enough to get jobs and handle our own money. The maximum number of parts you can have is 500. This includes face parts, bricks, furniture and projectiles. I do not think that projectiles should count as a part of our 500 maximum. Whyvillians trying to raise their salary with the Zero Gravity game need A LOT of projectiles. I know this might cause some server stress, so maybe this could be a perk for Why-Pass holders. I remember from before when you went into your dance book, all of your dances made would be listed and you could choose to sell or delete them. I think Whyville should bring this feature back. Not only so we can sell or delete our dances, but so we can keep track of the dances we have. I know I have forgotten many dances I have made and I?m sure many other Whyvillians have as well. I am always invited to many parties and it is very hard to keep track of them. I would like to have a folder for parties and have them be sorted from soonest to latest. That way you would always be able to keep track of them and hopefully be able to make it to every one. When a party is over, the mail would be deleted. A lot of people forget about parties too, so maybe if you are online, there could be a blinking reminder to tell you that the party is about to begin. These features would be very helpful to everyone and would not be annoying seeing as you can?t be invited to that many parties that the blinking would ever get out of control. A lot of people would like a reminder for a new Y-Mail. A blinking reminder could get very annoying, so I would like to have a speech bubble saying ?New Mail Message? that would not interfere with your chat, and you wouldn?t even have to go to it if you didn?t want to. The alert would just stay up, out of the way by the bus. I am always up for suggestions that you may have. I am a very good listener and am open to everything. I know I cannot promise all of these things, but I will try my best to make them happen if I were to be elected Senator. Thank-you, Rebok

Editor's Note: This Senate Race was announced on January 23rd -- read New Senate Race! to learn more, or last year's The Senate Race! by City Hall to start with the basics of a Senate Race.

This article is Rebok's Senate Platform, one of the top three chosen by Whyville citizens over the last two weeks. Post your questions for Rebok in the BBS below. She may answer them, or City Workers may use your questions for the Whyville Senator Debate, to be hosted in two weeks by City Hall in the Greek Theater. You may also post questions for the Debate in the Times Editor's "What's New in Whyville".

Rule number one: Keep it polite. Asking pointed questions is one thing. Attacking is another, so please understand the difference. Overly nasty posts can be 911-reported.

Rule number two: Stick with the candidate the BBS is about. Don't rave about your favorite candidate in someone else's BBS, please. Don't diss another candidate, either.

That's all! Now, let's get political!
