Hello folks,

All three candidates sent in brand-new platforms -- be sure to read up on their latest ideas and ideals before coming to the official Senate Debate next week. The debate will probably be held on Friday afternoon in the Greek Theater. Keep your eyes peeled on the Welcome Page calendar for the official date and time!

Speaking of that crazy calendar, does anybody want to write a clear and detailed "how-to" on how to read it? Our newest citizens might not recognize all those curious symbols, might not figure out how to scroll over them or what clicking on them might mean, might not know the difference between these events and what their fellow citizens are organizing on their own... so on and so forth.

Actually, in general, the Times could use a major updating on all the games, tools and sheer existence of Whyville. How do you use the ledger now? How does chat work? What about those 911 report tools, vaporize, and the rest of the kit and caboodle? Go down the list of games -- see one that doesn't have a help article in the Times? Write one for us! Wh00t!

And don't forget the Welcome Page, the password/etc page, emailing city-management@whyville.net, and other important aspects to Whyville. The list goes ever on and on....

Back to the news: Getty and Whyville officially announced the opening of the Getty Art Treasure Hunt on Friday. It's the latest salary-boosting game in quite a while, and it's sure to be a big hit after the rave reviews City Workers got during its run as a beta-tested game at Club Why. Thanks for the pointers and the praise, folks!

To get to the Getty Art Treasure Hunt, go to the Getty Museum or find the link on the Welcome Page (under "gettyLaunch"). From the museum, head downstairs to the Art Storage Room. There you'll find Eugene, our art registrar. He should explain things from there, though of course you're welcome to write a great "how-to" article for the Times as well!

One of the most exciting parts of the Art Hunt is that the artwork that you find is not only worth clams to your salary, you can also trade them at the Trading Post and show them off in your homes! How much do you think a Mona Lisa would be worth, in clams???

The WhyPox continues to skyrocket out of control, with no end in sight -- citizens are busy at the CDC BBS, and are urging City Hall and the CDC City Workers to update the CDC's pages to reflect the latest trends of the Pox.

Over at the Greek Theater, WhyPass holders have been given a long-awaited perk. Yes, it's on-the-grass seating! At least six brand-new spots have been made available up close and personal to the Greek Theater stage.

What more reasons do you need to buy a WhyPass? On-the-grass seating at the Theater, priority access to Whyville and the Face Factory, 50 face parts straight from Grandma... and in the future, Pass holders will get priority access to Myville house plots when they open up, a friend finder, the ability to browse the Whyville Mall with your friends, own stores at the Mall, and more throughout 2005.

You've got one final week to get that lifetime WhyPass, with all the benefits listed above, and more to come! I repeat, what more do you need??

Speaking of the Pass, there was some question about the parts that Pass holders get from Grandma -- don't worry, these are not the parts that are donated by regular citizens. They come straight from Akbar, who donates hundreds of parts to Grandma every day. :-)

Hey, you ever been to Jupiter? I hear there's a way to get the biggest planet in the solar system via a well-known Whyville tool....

City Worker neutral reports that crash12 and bprint66 won 50 clams each at the February 7 Trivia Hour. The big winner was mountlion, who took home 150 clams. Mountlion won her clams on a tricky 'win-clams-outright' question about $1.19. Congratulations!

And that's it,
Times Editor
