Howdy folks,

More news than you shake a rolled-up newspaper at... time to catch up, in our big ol' double issue for March! (Wish me luck on *my* schoolwork next week, okay??)

Start with the latest news: Leprechauns have been spotted in Whyville, and patches of clover are growing where they appeared! The little Irish imps must be doing something... but what? Check out "Hunting with St. Patrick" in this week's issue to find out! (And how did they get their hands on Why-Passes?!?)

Also this March: It's Whyville's birthday! Yup, March is our birthday month, and to celebrate, City Hall gives out a medal to every citizen who visits during the last week of March, who has been a citizen for more than a year. You'll get your medal at the end of the month.

Bronze awards go to one-year veterans, silver to two-years, gold to three-years, and the coveted animated gold medals go to those rare folks who have been in Whyville for four years or more!

Wow. Thanks for coming along, you great Whyvillians you! Six years of Whyville... it's amazing to think, sometimes.

We've seen over a million citizens enter our gates. Many come, a few go. Even a few City Workers have come and gone. What will the coming year hold in store for us all? I sense change in the wind....

Speaking of change, the weather seems to be changing... it may even be warm enough to start melting all this snow that Whyville's been buried under for the last many months. What do you think?

The official inauguration of Senator Rebok happened last Friday in the Greek Theater, attended by City Hall, City Worker scyllaCat and City Worker jen, as well as a theater-full of cheering citizens. Looks like Rebok is off to a roaring start as our newest Senator!

Thanks to former Senator softbll12 for her six months of service. We hope she'll be able to stick around Whyville and share her experience with everyone, or at least continue to have fun! Perhaps softbll12 could write an article for the Times about her time as Senator. We'll see.

The MediaWiz reports that he unfortunately had to cancel last Saturday's Media Hour. He sends his apologies to the regular attendees, saying it was a last-minute, can't-avoid-it sort of thing. You'd all better be watch the shows this week, though! ;-)

There's a new deadline for the Whyology surveys -- if you're participating and don't know about this, head on over to your Whyology book ASAP.

Monthly Why-Pass holders will soon be warned a few days ahead of time when their latest Pass is about to expire. Very useful information....

Speaking of the Why-Pass, I recently had the animated face parts issue clarified for me. It turns out that anybody can own an animated part, but only folks with Why-Passes can buy animated parts from Akbar. Ah-ha!

And just to let y'all know for sure that not all benefits are going for Why-Pass holders, regular citizens will soon get a notice when their face parts are about to expire. Knowledge is power, or at least helpful for when you're deciding what this week's look should be.

Some folks may be disappointed to see their salaries dip a bit recently. Turns out the salary boost from Getty's ArtSets game was not supposed to be that big of a boost -- just 1 or 2 clams a day, not all the way up to 6 clams a day. This has been corrected, yay!

March 8's Trivia Hour report -- City Worker neutral was unable to run the Hour last week, so he held two during the week of the 8th. Part of the first Hour was dedicated to the International Women's Day, in which neutral asked a few questions about famous women. Cobd took home 100 clams, while haphbaked, senceless and gold837 all won 50 clams each.

Mmm, news. Tastes like doughnuts. Mmm, doughnuts...
