Have you ever seen those abnormal people around Whyville who actually have legs?! There all really really tall and can only seem to say a few sentences at a time, the same thing over and over. One word of advice: Don't try to talk to them, you'll look like an idiot!

These lanky folks are what we call bots. They're automated personalities in Whyville that can't respond to most anything you say, with a few exceptions, like if you go to the taxi and tell the driver where you want to go.

I confess, when I was new or maybe not so new at that point or it could have been last weekend but that's not the point, I was talking to a bot and everyone around me couldn't believe their eyes! Silly me got made fun of a bit there, so let me prevent that from happening to you.

Maybe if you knew exactly what these bots were going to say at the exact time they were going to say it, you could have a conversation with a bot and impress everyone. There's some food for thought... but let's cut to the chase. Here are a couple of Whyville bots:

Bea
Bea is located in the Hall of Challengers, which is linked to the SmartCars Arena. Bea has GIGANTIC eyes that blink constantly. What she lacks in nice eyes, she makes up for in cool hair. Bea's hair has a very cool Elvis vibe about it that really sets the tone for her.

She has really skinny fingers and, as far as we can tell, she's legless just like the rest of us. She has a blue shirt with what looks like a name tag on it (it's note big enough to tell for sure). Under the blue shirt, Bea has a white undershirt. Bea is related to the other bots who work at SmartCars; you should check them out, too!

Eugene
Eugene is located in the Getty Museum. His job is registar at the museum. He is a pretty cool cat if you really look him over. Classy shoes, disco yellow pants, sophisticated burgundy shirt and a well-kept red suit jacket. I tried to beat Eugene in a game of statue, but he certainly can sit still! If you beat him in a game of statue, I'll give you 1,000,000,000 clams. (You wish!)

Eugene is probably one of the newest bots added to Whyville, seeing as Getty is a new addition. There's a great article all about Eugene's occupation and what kinds of things he does in the Whyville Times.

Grandma
Oh, our dear Grandma! Yes, she's Grandma to 1,110,947 Whyvillians as of March 7, 2005. She generously gives out face parts, bricks and furniture every single day, come rain or shine. This generous old lady has zombie-like skin and beady little eyes. It looks like Grandma gets too much sun just on her nose! She has a long face, with two wrinkles going down vertically near her mouth.

By the looks of it, I wonder if she's anorexic... but we all know our Grandma isn't anorexic at heart! We've all visited her at one point or another to ask for help. Actually, she probably gets lonely sometimes, so stop by and give her a hug. You don't always have to go for a free face part!

Bob
Bob, oh Bob, what can I say about thee, Bob? Bob basically gives out plots for Myville. He has a little side hair and then he's balding on the top. He has a big smiling mouth with amazing white teeth. I really need to find out what kind of toothpaste he uses!

Bob has a nice navy blue tie with a handy pocket protector in his shirt. He has two pens (in case one runs out) that he uses to mark down the plots on the maps he has in the back. All in all, Bob's pretty cool, and one of my favorite Whyville bots. (Editor's Note: Bob is also Whyville's second bot ever! Can you guess what the first was?)

Those are only FOUR of Whyville's countless bots. You should explore Whyville and see how many you find! Let us all know who and where you found them in the BBS, or Y-mail me.

This is ecnad, going off to find more bots!
