Peter was reading the newspaper and having a cup of hot cocoa. Even when it wasn't cold out, he loved hot chocolate.

The paper he was reading, the Hoppity Times, stated that they needed some staff to paint eggs at the Easter Egg Factory. Peter's pockets were empty and he hadn't gone shopping in a while. He decided that he would try out for the job tomorrow morning.

Peter slept a deep, deep sleep that night. Lucky for him, he'd wisely set his alarm -- otherwise he wouldn't have gotten up in time! Peter opened his closet, hoping to find something nice to wear. He dressed in a brightly-colored jacket and an equally nice bow tie. You couldn't tell from looking at this bedecked bunny, but Peter was very nervous.

Peter walked up to the factory and gaped at its size and amazing beauty. Before he stepped inside, he tugged at his bow tie and buttoned up his jacket to make sure he looked businesslike.

"This is it," he thought.

Oh, the instruments it took to deliver eggs! There were so many gizmos and gadgets lying around that Peter stepped on one and cried out, "Yoww!!"

Peter limped up to a rather large rabbit and asked, "Do you know where The Easter Bunny is?" His voice was nervous and quivering.

"You're lookin' at him!" the rabbit said in a welcoming voice.

"Nice to meet you sir! I'm here for the job interview," Peter said, his voice stronger now.

"Well, follow me!"

The Easter Bunny said that he wanted to see how well Peter could paint an Easter egg -- if it was good enough, he was in. Peter was prepared. He had brought his own paints and brush. But the truth was, he really couldn't paint!

Peter dipped his brush in green, red, and yellow. All mixed together, he painted all over the egg. Paint flew everywhere, splat splat splat! Finally, Peter stopped.

"S-so, what do you think?" Peter asked worriedly.

"What do I think? I think you start tomorrow!"

Peter was shocked "You actually liked it?" he asked.

"Of course! It was so, so so... wild and funky!"

The two thanked each other about ten times, and Peter walked out of the factory with his new work apron slung over his shoulder.

Peter got an even better night's sleep and couldn't wait until his first day of work.

"Well, Peter," he thought to himself, "You've done it again!"
