Hello my fellow Whyvillians,

I write today because of the many polls that I've seen stating that Whyville has to help Newbies, that Whyville has to be the one to make sure they have what's necessary to make it as citizens.

People, we are making the Newbies dependent on Whyville's "government," if you will, to get the face parts, clams, and whatnot that they need. Why don't we, as the citizens of Whyville, help our fellow citizens?

Here's an idea: Save just five percent of your salary every day, and reserve it for helping others. If you make 60 clams a day, that's only 3 clams a day. By the end of the week, if you log in every day, you will have saved up 21 clams (leaving you almost 400 clams to spend on yourself!).

Take those 21 clams and go to Akbars and buy something, anything, and give it to a tater... preferably one who isn't asking for stuff, these people are probably trying to make it through Whyville without begging, which is an admirable goal.

If every oldbie did this, can you imagine how much better off some of these newbies would be than with "Read my Petition: 7,000,000 clams a day!" petitions? In fact, if even a fourth of the oldbies did this, it would probably be better than anything ever done for newbies in the past.

C'mon Whyvillians, what's 1/20th of your clams a day?

Think about it.
Arnan
