You may have heard the name "Scylla" before. Not only is it the name of our city worker, Scyllacat, but it is a notorious monster in the epic poem by Homer, "The Odyssey".

This classic tale depicts "Scylla" as a horrible monster that grabs as many as six sailors and eats them. Scylla was actually once a lady, but she was turned into a monster by one of her husbands. I find that part kind of funny :)

Although, "Scylla" is just a myth, I thought it was an interesting choice to have that as a name. But who knows? Scyllacat could have named it after an old building or an ancestor. I just thought it was interesting to have such an odd name come up in a classic tale.
