Ah, what a complex cube of frustration and irritation Mr. Rubik invented.

The Rubik's cube is usually made of plastic, and has twenty-seven squares in all.

The challenge of the cube is to mix it up, then match all the colors on their sides again. Easy? Think again!

Mr. Ern?? Rubik invented this incredible contraption in 1974 in Hungary. Needless to say, he became famous as soon as he started selling his invention.

For those of you who have attempted to operate this confusing cube, you know how incredibly difficult it is to solve it once it is scrambled. Mr. Rubik himself couldn't solve his own cube for three months once he first invented it.

The official world record for the fastest time to solve the cube is. . .14.52 seconds!!! The feat was accomplished by Makisumi, an 8th grader.

The cube also comes with the edges 2 by 2, up to 5 by 5. Talk about frustration!

There are also other variations of the puzzle, called "Rubik???s Clock," and "Rubik???s Magic."

This is RoseOfRed, still trying to figure out this stupid cube.
