Back on September 11th, 2001, at about 9:00 AM EST, in New York City, an American tragedy took place. Probably the worst one in my lifetime, and one of the scariest for me. This, is what most of us now call 9/11.

At that time, two planes crashed into the Twin Towers (World Trade Center) and another plane crashed into the Pentagon down in Washington D.C. Another plane believed to be headed toward Chicago or Los Angeles, crashed into the forests of Pennsylvania.

I'm going to talk about the Twin Towers crash the most. This is not because I don't care about the others, just because as a New Yorker, I know more about these ones. Also, because I knew a few people that died in that attack.

Almost 3,000 people died in the World Trade Centers attack. The WTC was more than two buildings, but buildings one and two were the most well-known ones.

Anyway, on that day at that time, the North Building was hit by a plane. A few minutes later, the Southern one was hit as well. The Southern one collapsed first though, because it was collapsing at a faster rate. :(

My dad's friend is a firefighter, and he went into the collapsing tower and saved a few lives. He broke his arm while he was saving lives, but there is no comparison.

This was a sad day in American History, and always will be. I hope we all remember it.

I've got to go now.
