I've been on Whyville for a pretty long time now, and I have come to realize most people don't know the difference between a Newbie and a Noob. I know some of us know what the difference is but some don't.

Newbie: Newbie's are people who are NEW to the site. They don't understand much and are going to need some helpful guidance from us, more experienced Whyvillians.

Questions that a Newbie would ask:
-How do I get a salary?
-How do I work this game?
-Clams? What are clams?
-How do I buy items?

Do you see they're asking how they can make a difference, not if you could do it for them.

Noob: A Noob is a person who repeatedly asks for clams, parts, and even gives out their password so you can make their salary bigger.

Don't fall for these popular questions:
-I was scammed, can you give me clams?
-I was scammed, can you give me more parts?
-My old account password was changed and I can't get back on it and I made a lot for my salary, can you make my salary bigger?
-You're really pretty (or for guys "hot") and you make a lot of clams, could you give me clams/parts etc.?

Most Noobs don't take the time to write their y-mails because they are going to y-mail a whole load of other Whyvillians.

One more thing, here's a little hint: If you ever feel like being generous, check their City Records for how long they have been on. If they make many clams for their salary, they are a Noob. Some of these Noobs just clear their face to look like Newbies, and then beg for clams.

I want the criticism to stop. Making fun of a Newbie is hurtful. Some feel left out and may even quit the site. Just remember we were once just like them.

Thanks for taking your time to read and understand the difference.
