Poke it, then look for warts.
Pry it, and see if it weighs a ton,
Pick it up, then look to see if you are
Picking a perfect one.
Really, it's hard to pick a pumpkin.
Rather round, tall, un-lumpy.
Realistically real, yet abstract.
Everyone needs a pumpkin,
Exuberantly smiling.
