Hey, Whyvillians! Supercow9, here to talk about Green Day and my opinions on them.

To start off, I'd like to tell you all that I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and that kids and teens in my city like different things than your friends might like. My school, and the kids in it seem "big" on Green Day, and your school might be "big" on something else. Please don't criticize me if my facts are wrong according to where you live.

Green Day has many hit songs, including "Boulevard of Broken Dreams," and "American Idiot." Around here, the four members of the band are idols to many youths. Entertainment Weekly called them "The most influential band of their time." To me, they aren't idols, but a band that gets on my nerves. A lot.

It seems that every time I hit the scan button on my radio, I'm hearing a Green Day song. When I walk down the hall at school, someone's singing Green Day to themselves. Even at home, my brother is singing Green Day and explaining his favorite Green Day songs to me.

I can tolerate a few songs, but when everyone is singing, or playing another CD, I wonder . . . Why don't I like this band? Should I start learning to like it?

I don't like them because I see them as a band for "followers." It is just another bandwagon, where someone cool started liking them, and then everybody else imitated. This is probably wrong, but it comes up in my head every once in a while.

Anyways, post your thoughts and comments in the BBS, Whyvillians. Do you like this band because they're cool? Do you like their music? Do you even like them at all?

This is Supercow9, signing off.
