Valentine's Day brings some people joy, and others depressing thoughts. Sure, it's a time for loving others around you, but it makes people who don't have someone to share this precious day with depressed.

I like Valentine's Day because I can give my friends candy and stuffed animals, while I get the same in return. But, that's just my opinion. I interviewed a couple of people to see what were their views on Valentine's Day.

Maglina: What do you think of Valentine's Day?
Ashgirl94: I think Valentine's Day is materialized. It's supposed to be about telling your love that you love them, not buying dumb candy.
briyonna: I think it is a day full of love.
dog5girl: I think that Valentine's Day is fun but a little annoying because almost every one wants a valentine and they keep asking you if you want to be their valentine.
sporty4ev: I don't like it at all. I used to think that you show how much you care about people, but now I think it's just stupid. In elementary school, it was like homework to get Valentine cards. You had to even give them to your enemies. But now in Middle School (or High School) you don't do that, and it's annoying to see people all mushy gushy for this holiday.

Maglina: What do you like most about Valentine's Day?
Ashgirl94: Getting valentines.
briyonna: The expensive gifts
dog5girl: I like that every one gets a Valentine's Day card and there is candy in it sometimes (yum).
sporty4ev: I don't like anything about it.

Maglina: What do you like least about the holiday?
Ashgirl94: Not getting a valentine and the materialistic junk.
briyonna: Too much of love sometimes.
dog5girl: The thing that I don't like about Valentine's Day is we don't get a day off from school and on almost every other holiday we do.
sporty4ev: It's a scale. You either love Valentine's, or you don't. When my parents split, my Dad hated Valentine's Day . . . but now that he's married again, he loves it. It's just all based on who you love, and I hate it.

I'm still stuck on sporty's answers. I do have to agree with him, but I still think that it's a holiday for showing love, because not everyone has love in their life. This is the one, special day to share it.

But, you be the judge: Valentine's Day, good or bad?

These are just a few opinions, so post yours in the BBS
