As you've probably heard, Whyville now has a new 'hot thing': the virtual Scion xB. If you haven't gotten your hands on one of these fine vehicles yet, here's some basic info about the xBs.
When you first buy the xB, you get to choose the body color and the accessories you want to add. Accessories are permanent, so choose something you think you'll be happy with for awhile. Not to worry, though, you can further personalize your xB with decals (they're like face parts for your car (limit four on a car at once.)) Decals are available at Decal Central in Club Scion.
Once you've got your xB, what to do? In designated chat rooms, you can summon your xB by chatting "summon scion". Once it arrives, you can show it off to the other people in the room, or you can hop in and take a ride around Whyville. Don't forget to invite your friends along for the ride!
Once inside, you and your friends will cruise around Whyville's most popular chat rooms. While you're cruising, everyone inside your car can chat with each other. It's like having your own personal chat room!
Scions aren't cheap. But then, they're not cheaply made either. For those of you who aren't carrying around that many clams in your pocket, we'll soon be opening up Scion Solutions which will help you finance the purchase of your very own virtual xB. Basically, they'll help you get a loan which you then pay back in smaller, more manageable payments.
One last interesting thing: with the advent of Scions on Whyville, we've also introduced 'Decal Design Vouchers'. If you have one (or get one), it will allow you to design a decal. Decals you design will go into Decal Central, which is kind of like Akbar's, except it's for Scion decals. We're going to expand this voucher idea to the Face Factory, so we'll have special vouchers that will allow you to design one face part any time you want.
Oh yeah! Don't forget to check out the Scion Showroom in Club Scion. Some of the real-world cars in there are pretty fly. And, in the not-so-distant future, we'll start featuring Whyville Scions (maybe even yours!) in there.
