Welcome back to "Behind The Set!" Last issue I wrote about Milo Ventimiglia, and now I bring you, Dane Cook.

Dane Jeffery Cook, sometimes called "The Enunciator" was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on March 18, 1972. He grew up in Arlington, Massachusetts with his brother and other five sisters.

Dane discovered his talent when his father, George Cook, gave him a microphone and tape recorder to experiment. After watching Saturday Night Live as a 13 year-old, his new goal in life was to be on the show.

Starting to perform at comedy clubs in 1990, he began to perform almost every night by 1995. He even made it to Los Angeles to do some stand-up at the Laugh Factory.

Because he was seen often in Los Angeles, he was soon asked to appear in the major motion picture, The Waffler in 1999. A year before production, though, he appeared on Comedy Central's stand-up showcase called Premium Blend.

Around 2001, Dance pulled out about $25,000 of his money to make www.DaneCook.com, his own website to keep connected to his fans and help further his career. He also made an account on Myspace and ranked the second most-popular on the website (next to Tom, the creator), hitting one million friends. He's been in around 15 movies, with two in production right now.

Did You Know: Dane worked in a Burger King in Arlington where his brother was the manager.

Editor's Note: I actually was lucky enough to see Dane Cook at the Laugh Factory (as you mentioned) before he really blew up. He still comes back and does shows when he isn't too busy. He was incredibly funny!
