Poetry for the Soul

A Friend For All Times

In quiet times I think of you
and say a silent prayer
thanking god for sending me
someone like you to care.

In happy times I think of you
and gladness warms my heart,
remembering all the special times
of which you've played a part.

In troubled times I think of you
and your strength leads me on
knowing with you by my side
this, too, I'll get beyond

In all the times I think of you
one thing becomes quite clear
having you as my dearest friend
means more to me each year.

If a Poem is a Shadow

If a poem is a shadow asking your simple soul to dance,
to smile and waltz and take a chance,
to dance upon the pages of time and truth.
Then what is a tale, story, or a fact?
A friendly smile, pat or laugh?
Find out the mysteries of readings,
by opening up a simple book.
Whether it be fae, historic, or informal.
