I have a cousin named Adam. He lives in the US. He used to always visit me but then he went to serve time in Iraq. He came back wounded but I got an interview with him.

Q. What is your name, rank, and age.
A. My name is Adam Archer, I am a Sergeant, and I am 25 years old.

Q. When did you in list in the Marines?
A. I enlisted July 14 1997, I enlisted to get out of a small town and see the world, explore my opportunities, and earn a college education.

Q. Where have you served?
A. I got to go to Russia, Venezuela, and Belarus

Q. What was your favorite job?
A. My favorite job was to provide security for the Embassy, and keeping top secrets classified. I have top security clearance. When I came off Embassy duty I got transferred to Iraq.

Q. I heard you and another Marine were wounded, but others under your leadership escaped harms way?
A. While in Iraq on a patrol, I led my squad and came under fire of an enemy machine gun. I was shot as well as another Marine but the rest of my squad escaped. We pulled the other Marine out of harms way and my squad of 200 men came to our support.

Adam was wounded from a shot through his leg. He was helicoptered back to camp Pendleton where he was awarded the purple heart award, the highest award you can get. To me he is a hero.
