Pretendland is a place of no boundaries
Where the possibilities of happiness are endless.
Our horrible secrets disappear,
And our provocative fantasies become real.
Black and white portraits flourish with color;
Heartbroken songs, soon become mended.
The tragedy of life no longer exists,
In our home of make-believe.
Say goodbye to cruel rejections,
And to all of your mortifying moments.
The land is ours, if you can believe
That such a place could possibly be real.
But that is the key: it is not real,
Only a place we can escape to.
Where our desires melt away our pain
And there is no room for jealousy.
I spend my days in this imaginative world,
In awe of its size, and lack of limitations.
Wishing so hard to reside in this land,
But my begging resuses to be answered.
Oh please, oh please, I ask of you,
To take all the hollowness away.
I want an escape route; a place to hide,
Where we can live in perfect bliss.
No more screaming, no more crying;
Pain and suffering disappear.
If only a place could possibly be real
Where we no longer, have to pretend
