If you were a jouster
On your stallion, in my mind
Heading straight
To your doom,
Would you conquer her?

I'm in a state of confusion
Where there's a seed
Giving way
To a tree of doubt
That calls out a warning
To switch sides
Before i lose a chance
At finding what i seek

Or is there something left
On the backburner
Of my broken thoughts
That's pulling me
While you repel
With the scars you gave
(I thought they'd healed)

Fortune tells me
It's either or
And I question the validity
Of scratching two tick marks
On the walls of my heart:
One half-faded
The other raw

Oh, to be such
Of animal instinct
Without regard
To such conflict
And simply give in
To the mania

I want to be lost
In the pool of life
That kills the simpler beings
Of the world I live in
And take for granted
What existence really is
