A tear, a sob, a spearing of heart
The fear despair will never depart
Severe the pain to split apart
All shred of hope disappeared

Though pain may cause despair and hate
A chain to bind fast the gate
Abstain from yielding to that fate
Wage war against such a bane

Find joy in life, look up for hope
Destroy all downward plunging slope
Employ the simple cheerful scope
Just breathe and life enjoy

Withstand the trials and cutting despair
The brand of triumph a pride to bear
For grand the prize: a bloom so fair
Smile and sing with command

From fears come strength, from tears come pride
The jeers that mock cause toughened stride
From years of hurt come a wiser guide
Endure beyond what appears
