Hey it's mokey6 back with another interview with a planet. Last time I did my favorite planet outside of Earth, Jupiter! This time I am going to do my second favorite, the blue gas planet Neptune!

Neptune was first found out by Galileo. He saw it when it was very close to Jupiter, but thought it was nothing more than a star! Neptune was first observed in 1846 on September the 23rd. Even if it's very faint from Earth, Neptune does have rings. There are several very faint rings, and the outermost is called Adams. Though these rings are faint from Earth. Voyager 2 showed them very bright.

Neptune has a Great Dark Spot. When the Voyager 2 passed by it, it was the most prominent part of Neptune. It was about half the size of Jupiter's Great Red Spot, (about same size in diameter of Earth). The Great Dark Spot was in the southern hemisphere. But Neptune's wind blew it westward at 700 mph! But the oddest part about it was in 1994 when pictures showed that the Great Dark Spot had disappeared! Odd, right? Well a new dark spot was found in the northern hemisphere.

Now on to the interview with Neptune.

Mokey6: So, Neptune, what planet would you say you're closest to?
Neptune: Well even thought it isn't necessarily a planet; I would have to say Pluto.
Mokey6: Why is that?
Neptune: Well that is because of Pluto's odd orbit, it is and oval shape, so we trade out who is the farthest from the sun.
Mokey6: What did you think when you found out Pluto wasn't a planet?
Neptune: Unlike All the other planets, I didn't really mind because planet or no planet he was my closest friend.
Mokey6: Do you have any other friends?
Neptune: Well I am quite close to Uranus, Actually, we are considered twins by the other planets, because we are close in size and color.
Mokey6: Jupiter told me that Saturn brags about his rings. Is this true?
Neptune: This is true. He doesn't't understand really that little, (well, the rings are big), things like that don't matter. It matters what is inside you.
Mokey6: Oh I see. So could you tell me about your rings?
Neptune: Sure. Well one if them has an odd twisted structure. And my outermost ring, Adams, has 3 arcs called Liberty Equality, and Fraternity.
Mokey6: Can I have a picture for the readers?
Neptune: Sure!

Mokey6: Thanks for letting me interview you!
Neptune: No problem. Tell Earth I said Hey!

Neptune says what is inside is what counts. So what does he have inside him? Well first off, the gas planets have different insides than Earth-like planets. Neptune is made out of mostly ice, hydrogen, and helium. It is most likely to have a small, rocky core, and an ice mantle that blends into the atmosphere.

And that ended my interview with Neptune. Hope you liked it! See you later!
