In the homecoming,
There's some tears running down.
Lean and ragged in a quest for survival,
treading the streets of your town.

Turned away like rats in the gutter,
He has to hold his head down,
As respectables utter
Their words.

In the early light of a new day a' stirring,
From the shadows of tall buildings that stand like a forest,
Imagining green leaves, he picks up his feet and walks from
The street to another.

Turned away like rats in the gutter,
He has to hold his head down,
As respectables utter
Their words.

Because an open heart is only so far away,
An open heart is only so far away,
An open heart is only so far away.
