Boys and girls, do you remember the 90's? Come on? It wasn't that long ago. They started 17 years ago. The 90's brought so much to us. But my favorite thing about the 90's was the music.

My favorite part about music is listening to the words of the song, and learning the meaning and message of the lyrics. I find that 90's alternative songs have the most meaningful lyrics.

Here are some lyrics from some of my favorite 90's hits:

Aerosmith ? I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing:

I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you, babe
And I don't wanna miss a thing

R.E.M ? Losing My Religion

Consider this, the slip that brought me to my knees failed
What if all these fantasies come flailing around.

Tonic - If You Could Only See

If you could only see the way she loves me
then maybe you would understand
why I feel this way about our love
and what I must do
If you could only see how blue her eyes can be when she says
When she says she loves me.

Those are just some of my favorite parts, to some of my favorite 90's hits. I was born in the 90's and the 90's music now in 2007 plays I big part on me because it brings back memories, plenty of childhood memories that I completely forgot about. I can remember cleaning my old house and an R.E.M song came on. Music is so powerful. I have no idea how I could live one day without hearing a song.

I love falling asleep listening to a 90's hit on my iPod. If I had to pick my favorite 90's hit, I would definitely have to choose Tonic, "If You Could Only See". I adore love songs especially, and all of the 90's tunes I listen to are alternative love songs.

My task for you is to go through your parents old CDs and look for one of the following: Bryan Adams, Aerosmith, Nirvana, R.E.M, Oasis, U2, Goo Goo Dolls, Tonic, Blind Melon, Cake, Garbage, Fastball, Lenny Kravitz, Matchbox20, OMC, Puddle of Mudd, Stone Temple Pilots, Uncle Kracker, and pop the CD into the CD player, and listen to the lyrics.

See if these tunes do the same for you as they did for me. See if they bring back childhood memories that you completely forget about.

In the BBS post your opinion about the 90's music. Post some of your 90's memories, and if you listened to a 90's song recently and sung along.

Thank you for reading; I'm off to sing to "Follow Me", by Uncle Kracker.
