Ps2man1: Hey there! It's Ps2man1 here again, bringing you an interview article about the new Bankinter in Whyville!
Rex13: Shane . . . I'm working on this article too. Anyways, Bankinter arrived in Whyville on September 21st, 2007 at night. Yup, a Friday night.
Ps2man1: This company is based in Spain.
Rex13: In this bank, you can put your money in your savings, where it will be protected by a bank code, so if you get hacked, nobody can steal your clams if your bank code is unique. You can also get 1% interest per week from putting your money in savings.
Ps2man1: You can also put your money in a CD, or Certificate of Deposit, where your money is locked away for a certain amount of time, but it gains interest each week. Some people believe that this encourages password sharing, because if people can get on and they don't know the bank code and all the people have is clams, the people feel safe giving out passwords.
Rex13: Inflation will be up in the trading market too, meaning prices will go up like mad, since everyone has more clams than they did before.
Rex13 & Ps2man1: We interviewed a few people we could find out their opinions on the bank.
Ps2man1: I covered the Sunroof, and James (Rex13) covered the Trading Post.

Ps2man1: I interviewed DrFaustus first.

Ps2man1: Have you heard about the new Whyville bank?
DrFaustus: Yes, I have heard of it.
Ps2man1: Have you put any money in it yet?
DrFaustus: Yes, I've put some clams into it.
Ps2man1: Do you have any concerns about the bank?
DrFaustus: I'm concerned about inflation and how they're calculating the interest, whether it's compounded continuously from the time put in or what. I'm also concerned that people might decide to give their passwords out more now that they know their clams can't be accessed, which still wouldn't be a good idea.
Ps2man1: Do you have anything else you'd like to say?
DrFaustus: In other words, the Whyville Bank is pretty cool, however people shouldn't think they're going to get richer because of it, because as they get richer everyone else will, and the worth of a clam will go down.
Ps2man1: Smart words. Thanks for the interview.

Then, I interviewed 1260.

Ps2man1: Have you heard about the new Whyville bank?
1260: Yes, I discovered it hours after it came out.
Ps2man1: Have you put money into it yet?
1260: Not as much as I wanted to, if I had 1,000,000 clams again, it'd be more exciting - I only have about 50k in there or so.
Ps2man1: Do you have any concerns about it?
1260: Well, for the CD's - I think it isn't worth the wait. If someone were to put in 1,000,000 clams, they'd only get 180,000 clams back. So a six week wait for 180,000 clams? It'd probably be worth it for those who are poorer on Whyville, but wealthier people could just sell one face part for 180,000 clams. So I don't think it's worth the wait.
Ps2man1: Any other words you'd like to share?
1260: Sure. I think it's smarter to put your clams in a savings account rather than a CD. First, you could take out the clams whenever you want, it's not locked away, second, they earn interest as well! Maybe not as much as CD's do, but I'd rather have the option to take out clams whenever I want.

Next, I interviewed xCRUNKIE.

Ps2man1: Have you heard about the new Whyville bank?
xCRUNKIE: Yeah. When I signed on two days ago, and tried to view my bank statement through my ledger, I was like, it's broken!? And then I saw the bank statement book and I was like, woahh.
Ps2man1: Have you put money into it yet?
xCRUNKIE: Yes, I have.
Ps2man1: Do you have any concerns about it?
xCRUNKIE: I do. I feel as if the rich are only going to get richer. And the poor will get a tad bit wealthier, but not as rapidly as the ones who are already rich. It scares me to think that if someone put in 10 million in a CD, in 6 weeks they'll have made 1.8 million back in interest. Maybe Whyville should put in some limitations about how much you could put in? Also, more clams in the economy equals price inflations. We're all going to be excited about that . . .

For my last interview, I interviewed aItarboy.

Ps2man1: Have you heard about the new Whyville bank?
aItarboy: Yes, and I love it!
Ps2man1: Have you put money into it yet?
aItarboy: Yep, savings and the CD.
Ps2man1: Do you have any concerns about it?
aItarboy: Not really, unless a "bank robber" breaks in, but I highly doubt that will ever happen, unless Whyville decides to spruce things up a bit.
Ps2man1: Any other words you'd like to share?
aItarboy: I think it's a great idea to have this banking experience, especially for younger kids to learn about it, because it is a daily necessity in life when you grow up, and the more you know the better, the younger the better.

Rex13: Next, I interviewed three people: kfrorkim, ban334, and MizLola.

Rex13: Have you heard about the new Whyville bank?
Kfrorkim: Yes, I have heard about the Whyville bank, Bankinter.
Ban334: No.
MizLola: Yes, I have.
Rex13: Have you put money into it yet?
Kfrorkim: Yes, in both savings and CDs.
MizLola: No, I haven't.
Rex13: Do you have any concerns about it?
Kfrorkim: Yeah, like if the server goes crazy and I lose all my clams.
MizLola: No, I think it's great.
Rex13: Any other words you'd like to share?
Kfrorkim: Uhh . . . Yeah, why a bank from Spain?
MizLola: No, nothing else.
Rex13: Thanks for your time.

Ps2man1: And lastly, some screenshots I took of the bank!

Rex13: This is Ps2man1 and Rex13 signing out!
