Nerdishh here. Reporting on a tragic event in Whyville . . . yes, that's right. The beloved Wishing Well we've come to know and love is gone. Vanished. Asta la vista. It happened out of the blue. On October 8, 2007, anyone who was in the Sportplatz, playing a usual game of the well, was booted. When they returned, it was gone.

Many think the Well is gone for good but others, including myself, still have hope. If you check the Poll Booth, you'll see many petitions about bringing the Wishing Well back to Whyville. Beauty912 was one of the first people to see the Sportplatz without the well. She started a petition and in an hour, it had about 130 votes. That's how much Whyville loves the well.

I stayed around the sportplatz for a while. I don't know exactly the reason why. I was hopping it would come up again, I think. Many people came in and started screaming, "Where's the well?!" or "Oh no! It's gone!" Some people left but others stayed around and we felt remorse for the well and remembered how much it brought us.

Here is a picture of some of us at the Sportplatz:

The Well brought us so much. Clams, of course. But more than that. I made the best friends at that well. It was a place where people could converse and get to know each other, as well as play a fun game. People could laugh at the words and wonder if they were even words, and even complain about how hard the game was.

At first, most of us didn't get it. When we practiced we got better. City Workers hinted to me that it would end soon at this month's MTM, but I didn't think much of it. The Well end? Please, what a ridiculous idea. But it did.

For the sake of Whyville . . . bring back the Well.
