Some of you, if not most of you, know that Taking Back Sunday is my favorite band in the whole entire world. You probably know that I think Louder Now is one of the best albums I own and that I know some of the most random facts about the band and its members. You probably made up jokes/stories on a certain forum about the future marriage of Adam and me (which obviously cannot happen now, seeing as how he's engaged). You probably know that Adam Lazzara is the lead vocals, Matt Rubano is the main bass player, Eddie Reyes is the founder and backup bass, Mark O'Connell is drums and Fred Mascherino is backup vocals and guitar. Or at least, he was.

On October 30 of this year, Taking Back Sunday plans on releasing Notes from the Past, which includes four songs from Tell All Your Friends, six from Where You Want to Be and two B-sides, "The Ballad of Sal Villanueva" and "Your Own Disaster". But what else is coming out on October 30? Maybe it's Bend to Break, the color fred's first full-length album. (And yes, the color fred isn't capitalized.) And can you guess who is in the color fred? Our very own Fred Mascherino, formally from Taking Back Sunday.

But why in the world would Fred even want to leave Taking Back Sunday? It's not that he had a huge blow up fight like a few certain band members (coughcough...Antonio Longe, John Nolan, Shaun Cooper, and Jesse Lacey...coughcough), and it's not because he got bored with TBS and wanted to move onto "bigger and better things". It's because of the color fred. Fred Mascherino is actually the lead vocals of TCF and he decided to go solo.

On October 4, 2007, TBS posted a blog on their official website (http://www.takingbacksunday.com) saying:

"After four great years and two successful gold albums together, Fred has decided to leave Taking Back Sunday to pursue his solo career. We wish him well and we are working on the next Taking Back Sunday album as we speak.

We wanted to let you guys know and then get back to working on the music. No drama, just riffs.

On that note, Fred's album The Color Fred's BEND TO BREAK is coming out on October 30.

The Louder Now Parttwo CD/DVD is coming out November 20. You want webisodes, we got webisodes. You want unreleased live videos? Got that too. Lots of bonus features and behind the scenes goodies on this one. More on that soon.

The next Taking Back Sunday album is in its very early stages. As always, we will be updating you on that as we go along.

Thanks guys!"

But other than the depressing thought of Fred leaving (considering he was one of my favorites), there are good things to the blog. Did you read the words "next Taking Back Sunday album"? I did. Three times. It's actually in going to be released in 2008 and five songs are already written but not recorded. That means that the last of Fred's TBS backup vocals were heard on Louder Now, Louder Now: Partone, or even on the newest soon-to-be release Louder Now: Parttwo.

Yes, yes, I know that Fred leaving probably caused the end of the world to come sooner and I do realize that in fact I was being a little too over dramatic the other day when I found out. In fact, I made a "Fred Memorial" playlist with all the songs he's ever sung in (that I own). Haha, yeah, that's how I roll.

Anyway, let's all hope the color fred is just as amazing as Taking Back Sunday is and let's also hope TBS will continue it's greatness even without the amazing vocals from Fred Mascherino.

This is Blue, singing with Fred.
(Two sides twist and then collide, you're calling off the guards, I'm coming through...)
