Fear

I got so scared
I turned on the TV
My eyes blurred
As I began to cry

Sadness passed over
And anger flooded in
How could someone do this?
Just one simple question "Why?"

Who could hate that much?
Why take away so many lives?
Sickos, weirdos, I am amazed
A volcanic eruption in NYC

I just wanna scream
But nothin' comes out
just a soft wince
a reporter comes on the screen, 50,000 estimated dead

Flags fly high
And though we lost so many
There are so many angels, now fill the sky
Although it don't make much sense

Maybe this day was not quite
pure evil after all...

It could've been me
I'll never see your face again
I'll never hear you sweet laugh ring
Why did they take you away?
I just want one more day
I should've been there
I could've saved you
You told me I was your hero
What hero am I?
I let you die
They took you away
I wasn't there
I didn't see your tears
I was supposed to take away your fears
I just want one more day
Please why did they take you away?!
Come back, you were my angel
I loved you with every bit of my heart!
They took you away, I'll never stare into your eyes again
It wasn't supposed to end like this!!
I'll always be here....
And I'll never forget... it could've been me

Dedicated to my cousin, who was in the northern tower at the time...
