I dreamt, last night,
He came with arms wide
And I, longing for touch
Wept at his side

I have lost seven kingdoms of worth
And been wrong at seventy crossways
I've searched seven hundred earths
To glimpse a moon that once held his gaze

I hear many things
Words he has spoken
Though it never is he
I've not yet been broken

I have slept upon seven red stars
And once, for seven years I lost my voice
Seven thousand times I've looked afar
And not once have I regretted my choice

I oft' feel his hand
Slip ghostly on mine
I know he's not there
But our fingers entwine

I would die seven hundred deaths
And bear seven thousand harms
I would gladly now take my last breath
To forever sleep in his arms
