What's up Whyville? It's Johnny452, and I'm back! But this week with object pronouns!

Object pronouns are used in the predicate of a sentence. They receive the action of the verb. You and me are object pronouns that don't need a reference to a noun or phrase these pronouns are replacing.

Example: Mr. Vogel told you and me about Captain James Cook.
Try: Mr. Vogel told us about Captain James Cook.

Him, her, it, us and them are object pronouns.

Example: Captain Cook left Britain in 1768.
Try: Captain Cook left it in 1769.

That is right it is time for sentences using object pronouns!

Captain Cook landed on Tahiti, a Pacific Island, in 1769.

Scientists on the voyage made observations of Venus from the island.

Later Cook's ship, the Endeavor, took Cook to New Zealand.

He was the first European to visit New Zealand.

On his second voyage, Cook circled Antarctica and visited more islands.

Cook's final voyage took the captain to the Hawaiian Islands.

Mr. Vogel told you and me that Captain Cook was a great explorer.

Wow I never knew that much about James Cook! Well you learn something everyday! Maybe you could do some more research on Cook and have a game show.

Well again this has been Johnny452 going to write for next week! *scribble*
