Doh!
If you had only read that one word and not the title, would you know what I was talking about? Most of you would. "Doh" is a famous line by non other than Homer Simpson. Homer Simpson is part of the hit television comedy, "The Simpsons".
Personally, I love "The Simpsons" so you could imagine my excitement when I heard creator Matt Groening had decided to create a movie. This past July, The Simpsons Movie was released in theaters throughout North America. It was a HUGE success. The first weekend of its release I was in line getting my ticket. I loved this movie so much I asked for the DVD version for Christmas. To my luck, I received it and watched it right away.

Now on to the plot; the lake in Springfield was declared toxic so a new law was passed to ban the polluting of the lake. Meanwhile, Homer adopts a pet pig. Homer keeps the pigs' waste in a silo which Marge tells him to dispose of. He is in a hurry to get free donuts so he dumps the silo in the lake. A squirrel then jumps into the lake and is immediately mutated. The EPA captures the squirrel and creates a plan to enclose Springfield in a glass dome. When the silo is found in the lake with Homer's name on it, the city of Springfield chases the Simpsons family. The family is able to escape to Alaska via a sinkhole in Maggie's sand box. There they encounter multiple adventures in which Marge, Lisa, Bart and Maggie leave homer and are re-captured by the EPA. Now it's up to Homer to save his family and the city of Springfield from eternal life inside the dome.
While I was searching for information on the movie, I went to www.thesimpsonsmovie.com. It's a really cool site with games, merchandise and information on the movie. You can also create an account. I chose to do this and to my surprise I was able to create an avatar. You can choose from different skin colors, hair, nose, eyes, clothes and much more.
