Chapped lips, stuffy nose, and more. UGH! Don't you just hate being sick, even with the teeniest tiniest little things? I know I am and I have some advice. (Everybody say, "Ohh--Ahh.") Yep, it's true, and I hope it'll help you too! I am going to have in each little description how to prevent the illness, and how to treat it. Oh yeah, aren't I your favorite doctor? Alright then, it's time to get your vaccine for learning!

Chapped Lips (Oh my!)

Have you ever felt dryness, and unbearable pain on your lips? If so, you've had chapped lips. Chapped lips are when your lips are irritated, and form a rough and dry crust on your precious lips. There are a few ways to treat chapped lips. Here are some! One way to treat chapped lips is by using chap stick. By using chap stick it will prevent you from getting the next level of chapped lips, cold sores. Another way to help treat your lips is, wearing a scarf over your face during cold winter days. Normally the coldness irritates the lips creating the painful chapped lips.

Prevention for chapped lips? The same as treating it, so that can't be THAT hard. (At least I hope . . . *wink wink*) Q:What time of the year do chapped lips occur? A: Chapped lips form in the summertime, and in the winter. Normally you'll see it in the winter since in the summer people are trying to look good, so they put on some type of cover on their lips, and that protects their mouth.

Colds, Yuck!

Colds have some of the symptoms of the flu, and sometimes they can be pretty dreadful. A cold will normally involve sneezing, coughing, stuffy noses, and wheezing if you're an asthmatic. They can occur anytime of the year, and normally you will see people with colds in the winter. Also they can occur with allergy season, in the spring. They can be treated with over the counter medicine, or a special prescription from your doctor. If you discover unusual breathing contact your doctor immediately. There are only a few ways to protect yourself from colds. Those ways include bundling up, listening to your parents, and other directions from your doctor.

Flu

The Flu is a virus that has NO cure whatsoever. It can only be treated with medicines such as antibiotics, and hope for relief. The flu has symptoms of colds, and can last up to 1 week OR longer. One way that doctors have tried to prevent patients from the flu is a flu shot. A flu shot does NOT protect you from the flu it just makes it not as tough on the immune system. If you experience any of the flu symptoms, call your doctor right away. Also be prepared for vomiting, fevers, etc. The flu is a serious virus, and should be cared for greatly.

Viruses

Viruses all have different names, and all have different courses. They are sometimes serious, but sometimes not. One of the most serious cases is the stomach flu. With the stomach flu you may have a fever, vomiting, or have a sore throat. Contact your doctor for any virus, and see if there's a cure. There is nothing that says they are serious or not.

So whether it's a virus, a cold, the flu, or chapped lips . . . it can be dreadful. And you need to take care of it!

This is Cohenlm going to treat her stomach flu. "Ugh, I feel so sick."
