I hope this word seems familiar to those reading. Friends. What comes to mind when you hear that word (in this case, 'read' the word)? To me, it's people who you'll spend your free time with to take stress from home and school off your shoulders and people who understand you.

But how do you know if you have a true friend or not?

Most people are smart enough to know a true friend is there through thick and thin, and won't walk all over you. A true friend is a person who doesn't get mad at you for not choosing them over someone else because, "Well, you've been our friend longer," or, "We're better than them."

Honestly, a friend who tells you that isn't a true friend. One who is, is they always comfort you, when you're sad and always try to make you happy by saying the silliest things like, "Moo," which I do. They don't care if you sit with someone else at lunch. You're still going to be friends with that person, and they shouldn't get mad at you if you're hanging with someone else for a period of time.

True friends are ones who can keep your secrets until the day the die. They truly understand you, like they are your long lost twin or something.

I have had some trouble with friends lately. Actually, since the first day of school, when we found out that we all were in three different classes, and none of us, Cassie, Ashley, and I, were in the same class. But in my class, I made some new friends, Jordan and Maddy. I hang out with them, sure, and Cassie and Ashley also. I try to alternate who I sit with at lunch because some get mad if I don't sit with them. I try to make it fair. Call me a peace maker, if you will, cause it's who I am, I hate war and fighting.

Sadly, this didn't work. Not as planned, that is. Everyone gets along with everyone. Except me though, I'm the most disliked of friends, or the bad guy.

And . . . I don't care. I got friends who don't ignore me (sometimes) or ditch me. They just haven't learned that if they wanted to sit with someone else, or hang out with someone else, I wouldn't care, because I am still their friends (I hope) and I want them to be happy.

That's just the kind of person I am, and not much people see that, except my family, of course. Like I said, I'm the peace-maker of my class, as told as my one of my teachers.

Though I'm always being told I'm not a great friend (if not said personally, it's being thought of), and I'm always having people mad at me, and frankly, I don't know why, because I feel I've done nothing wrong.

But I'm still friends with them. We have our good days, and our bad, and we get through it. That's life, I have to say. Sometimes we'll have such a good time and laugh so hard I'm crying inside, or my eyes actually start to swell, because I'm having a good time.

No kid, teenager, or even adult can live without friends. Your best friend can be your mother, like mine is, or you dad or sister or brother. You never want to have a friend who makes you feel bad, about yourself, about your life, or anything. They are there to make you feel GOOD!

That is what a true friend, to me, is. Many people have different opinions about true friends. And same with bad friends, or not-so-true friends. When I think of friends, or true friends, I think of the famous Hannah Montana song "True friend", because it explains everything, about friendship; it's do's and don't's; it's rights and wrongs.

Think of friendship as want you want to think of it as. But always remember what a true friend is, and never let anyone or any friend walk all over you or get mad at you for no apparent reason. Be the boss of your own life (though listen you your parents/elders) and make your own decisions.

This is seera180, repeating what my integrated math teacher says every Friday, "Eat healthy, use discretion, and no cancer sticks (no smoking)!"

P.S. MOO!
