Last week we got a wonderful article from Girl4God about planning a party! I thought it was a wonderful idea and so props to her. I am writing an article for having a tropical party or birthday party. Isn't it perfect timing for have a party of such genre this time of year?

Invitations

For invitations you can follow this idea or make your own. Get little umbrellas that are used to go in tropical drinks. Make sure they aren't broken. Now go on you computer and type in all the info into a small area.

Example: 8/19/08
123 Apple juice lane
3 pm to 10 am
Sleep over pool party!

Print them and make them into tags. Next connect them to the umbrella in any way you like. You might want to consider using a whole punch to make easy tie holes to tie your string into. If you want you can get some regular pre-made invitations, but those are quite BORING!

Snacks

Get Hawaii Punch (at a supermarket near you)
Add sprite or club soda, something of that sort
Put some sherbet ice cream in (any flavor)

Now it is ready to pore. Make sure you have lots of supplies depending if how many people are coming. If you are only planning on inviting four or five guests, you may only want to get two bottles of Hawaii Punch.

Have fresh fruit on the table: pineapple, strawberries, and berries. You and your invitees can make yummy smoothies or get your older sibling or younger to make you smoothies if they are allowed to. For dinner have pineapple and ham on pizza or just pineapple. Chips are also good for anything even in the tropics!

Decorations

Pink streamers
Yellow streamers
Green streamers
Tiki torches
Big palm tree (Can be inflatable. This can be purchased at a party store.)
A bunch of beach balls floating in the pool.

What To Do

Make sure to plan a way to swim. You can play water baseball by getting one of those balls that soaks up water and using a water tennis racket (it doesn't have wholes in it or anything. It is like a koosh racket.) See who can hit the farthest. Buy miniature fish, drop them on the bottom of your shallow end or deep end and see who can get the most fish. Whoever does (not the party thrower) can get a free beta fish! Provide food and a glass bowl.

Have your guests spend the night. If you have 20 people coming only invite three or five to spend the night. Whatever is you parents' limit.

Party Favors

Tiki glasses
Banana laffy taffy
Grass skirts
Hula bobble heads
Any kind of candy
Beach balls

For these favors listed above they can be given at the end of the party or during.

Thanks for reading and have fun at your tropical party
