Geek, nerd, dork. Ah, the fresh smell of stereotypes in the morning. A lot of people have been called a nerd, a geek, or a dork. But are they the same thing? No, not at all. Many people have different definitions for these three words, but what are their real meanings? First I will tell you what I think, and then we will go to interviews. Lastly, we'll check the dictionary to see who's right.

I think that a nerd is someone who loves to learn and knows just about everything there is to know. Stereotypes of nerd say they wear glasses and dress very unstylish. I think geeks are people who know a lot about electronic things such as computers. They are people who can fix any bug your computer has, and who always have really cool gadgets. I think a dork is someone who acts weird and does weird things and someone who's entertaining to watch or talk to. I think I'm definitely a dork. I do really weird things like shout "Who got married?" out of car windows. Dorks are also klutzy and trip or fall often.

Morgan612: What is your definition of nerd?

Landstar1: Someone who wears glasses, same pants, loves math, loves school!
Cbbs1: Well, honestly I think a nerd is someone who is, let's say, addicted to computers and electronics.
Cath226: My definition of a nerd would be someone devoted to school and homework. I don't consider someone being a nerd as weird. I don't think anything is wrong with that, but I hate how some people feel this is weird or bad.
Paige026: My definition of a nerd is someone who is rude and annoying with his smartness.
Mokey6: A smart person who is obsessed with some lame-o hobby.

Morgan612: What is your definition of geek?

Landstar1: Someone who loves school, has no friends, and carries books.
Cbbs1: My definition of geek is someone who loves to learn.
Cath226: A geek is someone who has a particular passion for something in subjects like science, math, and so on. At least in my opinion. Sometimes pocket protectors and suspenders come to my mind, although that's usually not what they look like.
Paige026: Someone who is over obsessed with one thing.
Mokey6: Avery.

Morgan612: What is your definition of dork?

Landstar1: Someone who doesn't care what other people think, likes anything, loves school also.
Cbbs1: I think a dork is someone who is disliked because he/she is different. Or likes math or science.
Cath226: A dork is . . . I don't know, maybe an outcast. Someone different. A dork isn't like everyone else I guess.
Paige026: Someone silly.
Mokey6: Potatoes.

Now for the dictionary.

Nerd: an unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept person; especially: one slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits

Geek: an enthusiast or expert especially in a technological field or activity

Dork: a stupid or ridiculous person; jerk; nerd.

So, I was pretty close, and so were many of the people I interviewed. Although, I think the dictionary was wrong about dorks, but that's not the definition most people use so I think it's ok. Many people have different definitions of these words, and they are mostly used as stereotypes. The world may never know the exact true answer. But I will always believe my answers are right.

Thanks for reading, this has been another . . . ATOT! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO FORGET?!
