Hey, Times readers! It's me, Lovely432, back with more music to share with you! I'm really sorry that I didn't send in an article the past weeks. I was up North with absolutely NO Internet or cell phone reception. Again, I'm really, truly sorry! Anyways, I hope you like the band I found this week. I personally think that they're amazing!

So let me introduce you to . . . We The Kings!

"Run baby run! Don't ever look back! They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance!" - We The Kings, "Check Yes Juliet"

Where

We The Kings is an American band that hails from Bradenton, Florida. The band was created in the year 2003.

Members

There is a total of four members in the band. They are Travis Clark (lead vocals and guitar), Danny Duncan (drums), Hunter Thomsen (guitar and vocals), and Drew Thomsen (bass). Brian Sconberg used to play the guitar and backup vocals but he left the band.

Genre

We The Kings can fit into many different types of genres, but they are mostly a good, even blend of Alternative Rock, Power Pop, and Pop Rock.

Albums and Releases

We The kings released their first album, Friendship is a Touchy Subject, in the year 2005. The album has 9 songs in all, which includes "Armor of Hope" and "This Is Our Town". A year later, in 2006, the band released their sophomore album called Between the Ink and Paper. Between the Ink and Paper is a short album and has only six songs total, which includes songs like "I Gave Birth to the Twentieth Century" and "A life, A Love, A Lie". Just last year, in October of 2007, We The Kings released their third album self-titled We The Kings. This album is much longer than all the others, with a total of 11 songs. It also includes the more popular songs like "Check Yes Juliet" and "Skyway Avenue".

Labels

We The Kings recently signed on to an independent label called S-Curve Records.

Appeals To

We The Kings would probably mostly appeal to Alternative Rock and Pop Rock lovers. With their fun, upbeat rhythm and easy-to-sing-along-to lyrics, We The Kings is bound to be a future favorite band! I personally think that they have tons of future number-one-hit potential, so watch out for them in the future! I also think that Boys Like Girls and Simple Plan lovers will also like We The Kings, since the sounds are similar between the bands. If this seems like your cup of tea, check them out and maybe listen to a couple of their songs!

Interesting Facts

Wow, this band is pretty much oozes interesting facts! Ok, the first interesting fact is that the band, We The Kings, was first formed in Martha B. King Middle School! That would mean that they were only middle school students when they met eachother! Another fact is that on April 8th, their song "Check Yes Juliet" was featured on an episode of MTV's oh-so-popular hit show, "The Hills". Yet another fact is that We The Kings has toured with many popular bands, which include Boys Like Girls, Metro Station, Cobra Starship, Cute Is What We Aim For, All Time Low, and Mayday Parade. Ok, the last interesting fact is that all the band members have kinda long hair and in April, they played on their first headlining tour called "Long Hair Don't Care" along with bands like Charlotte Sometimes and Sing It Loud!

I'm sorry to say that this is the end of this installment for "Music You Gotta Hear". I hoped you liked the band I had! Tune in next week for more "Music You Gotta Hear"!

This is Lovely432, going to finish up my required summer reading books!
