Hello Whyville! Happy New YEar!
I've finished tallying the votes for best costume, and the winner is... BABYMATT, with 11 votes!!! Many people picked him because he did not solicit votes and he is nice to newbies!!! :-)
In addition, we at City Hall have voted, and we'd like to give a special "Most Innovative" award to BRACELET for her very cool costume. I asked her to describe it again for me in a Why-mail the other day, but I didn't tell her why. ;-)
Here's how she described her costume:
"My costume? :
I had a white face so I blended it with the snow. =)
I had all old-fashioned clothes like they wore a while back.
And I went around saying:
I am the spirit of the olden why-days. Here to say: No matter what year,

Note from City Hall: Everyone in Whyville owes Turnip an extra-special thank-you. We were so swamped over the New Year's Masquerade that we weren't going to be able to do the costume contest at all. When she heard about that, Turnip went into crazy high-energy mode! She single-handedly set up and pulled off the whole contest, including the new voting method. Thanks, Turnip!!
