My Old Whyville

I've seen as much as you can see in Whyville. I was practically there when it all began. Signing in as HellzBeauty, I learned everything there was to know. I learned that you play games to earn clams (and then you can go shopping) and where the coolest hangouts were back then. I was addicted.

One year later, though, I was tired of HellzBeauty in Whyville. Everything was too easy. Everything seemed to be going so slowly and I was trying to pass them by. People were nice but I wished things could be different. People more lively, more outgoing. I decided I would quit.

One year later... I couldn't stand it. I missed the few friends I had (there weren't many people when I first joined). I tried signing in and I couldn't. I finally made a new screen name (hotchickO) and asked about what was the matter. What had happened?

Few people answered. Many of them warned me. I had yet to make my way to the top. At first, I did good old fashioned begging just to get my feet planted until I could care for myself. Only one person replied, and even they weren't true to what they said. They never gave me anything. What had happened? Why was everything so changed. There were millions of new things I didn't know what to do with, and millions of people being mean. Is this what I had wished for?

Two months later... I was great. I had million of friends and my salary was 78. I set out on my mission to find out what had happened to my old Whyville account. Talk was that most likely it had been hacked. Hacked? How is that possible? Why would someone do it? I learned to not trust anyone. Not even the best of friends.

But still I had a blast. I could buy things whenever I wanted and had a pretty comfy seat in society. Everything was great. I was on my way to being famous. (Not really.) But then something happened.

Someone I'd given my password to went on my screen name and got me into trouble. I was booted off Whyville. It wasn't fair. How could Whyville do it to someone innocent? THEY SHOULD PUNISH THE CULPRIT! I had been framed. I quit Whyville for 3 weeks, not wanting to make a new screen name. HotchickO had been the best. I didn't want to start over.

Three weeks later... I couldn't stand it. I had to get back on, once again to see the people I knew and loved. I made a new screen name (Lilbeaut) and made my way to the top once again.

Millions of things have changed since the beginning. Millions more people and activities, places to go, people to see. I'm not sure if I like it better than My Old Whyville. It is too bustling. More than I ever thought it could be. So far, though, life's been good as it was with HotchickO, almost.

Be careful what you wish for.
