The sun rose early in the morning. The light poured through the blinds on the window and into my eyes. I sat up wearily in bed and listened to the song of the robin outside of my window. There was a knock at my door, "Come in!" I called. The door creaked open and in came James. "Morning," he said, his voice sounding scratchy from the crying. "I was thinking, if Mr. Craw told you that thing about unlocking secrets, shouldn't he be able to tell us where this 'door' is?" "True . . . we can go find him this morning and ask!" I replied. "Well, then we better go soon!" James concluded.

We threw on our clothing, and went flying down the path to where Mr. Craw lived. James went up to the door and knocked four times. We waited, and waited and no one was coming. Just as we were about to walk away, the door creaked open and an old lady stood in the doorway. Her face was aged with wrinkles, she had many moles on her face, and there were bags under her eyes that showed her age. She looked about two hundred and fifty years-old!

"Erm, Hi!" I stuttered, "My name is Alexa, and this is my cousin James." "Hi . . ." said James. "We were looking for Mr. Craw, is he home?" I continued. The lady looked at us in dismay. "Mr. Craw isn't well," she said in a haunting voice that sent shivers down my back. "Yeah, what else is new," James muttered under his breath. I jabbed James in the ribs with my elbow, ignoring the little squeak he gave. "No, no, no dearies! You don't understand! Mr. Craw is on the verge of death," she whispered.

James and I looked at each other. "C-can we please go see him?" I asked. "Yeah, and who are you?" James asked pointing at the old lady. "I'm . . . his sister, yes, his sister!" replied the lady. James looked of into space in deep thought. Suddenly he screamed, "No! You're not his sister! That's a lie. Mr. Craw had no siblings and both his parents died when he was seven years-old. What are you doing here?" Suddenly, the lady transformed into a rat! Somehow she was still able to talk, "Look kid, give me the key! Give it to me!" she squeaked! The rat started crawling up my leg, up to my pocket where the key was! I started screaming and tied to knock it off.

Out of nowhere Mr. Craw appeared with a mouse trap and caught the rat, or lady, or whatever it was! All this smoke appeared where the rat was in the trap, and it disappeared! "Pesky turtles! Always trying to steal the catnip from Mr. Fish head!" grumbled Mr. Craw in his craziness. I looked at him and started stammering "Huh? Wha-?" Mr. Craws eyes glazed over again, like when I saw him by the lake, and he winked at me and disappeared into the bush again.

Well that's one more person, or thing that we couldn't trust.
