PANDEMIC
I was shaking with sobs
Just screeching and screaming
The world collapsed before my eyes
The day I stopped dreaming

Once upon a time, a happy life
My thoughts were carved deep in the snow
But the snow has melted and my task is done
I'm not sure where I should go

The ice fell in pellets and I chiseled away
There was purpose, there was reason
But the sun shines brightly through the clouds
Never before was there a change of season

My work is now water, the air's hot and sticky
The sky beats on my back harder still
There's nothing left to work for, nothing left to hide
Of fighting I've taken my fill
