We laughed the time I met you
And you danced and flipped your hair
And you showed me one of your Youtube videos
So I would stay and chat
And we giggled the time I met your friends
And we had a techno dance party
And then when it was over
The best 7 way virtual high five ever
And I was confused the time you called me hot
And then moved away
And didn't get Internet
And I didn't know how to contact you
And I smiled the time I prank called Andrew
And you were there in the background
And you figured out who I was
And you gave me your number
And we were serious the time we played truth for hours
And we told each other so many truths
And you said so many sweet things
And I cried at the end of that night
And I was bold the times when I said some things
That I never thought I'd say to a guy
And we always said we would meet
And you would be my first kiss
And you lied the time you said you beat up a guy
Because he stole a girls purse
And I lied the time I said I didn't cry
The last time I watched The Notebook
And we knew so much about each other
We knew when the other was lying
And we were silent the times we talked on the phone
Way longer than my mom would allow
So you held your breath and kept quiet
Until the coast was clear
And I was happy the time you said we'd get married
And I could have two maids of honor
And you said you'd give me a ring
As soon as we could meet
And I cried the time you weren't my boyfriend anymore
But I had to hide the tears
I was at school and nobody knew about you
You were my secret
And I was jealous the time you put up those pictures
With that girl next to you
And when I asked you who she was
You said she was just a girl
And I was ok again when we were still best friends
And we still talked on the phone
And laughed and joked
And you were still amazing
And I was there for you when things happened
And best friends got in big fights
And even though I didn't want to be
I was the middleman, delivering messages between you
And I was mad the time when you said those things
You flirted and tried to be sweet
And I didn't know what to think
Because I thought you didn't like me anymore
And I surprised you the time I sent you a birthday card
That you weren't expecting
And I enclosed our dandelion
I wanted you to keep it forever
And I cried the time you unengaged me
And told me you felt free
And you were mean the rest of that day
And I finally knew you were serious
And I still think about you
And it still takes effort not to text you like I used to
And even though I don't have those feelings anymore
I still miss my best friend
